An SEO Project

The main goal of this project was to develop and maximize effective SEO techniques while reworking the code in an existing site. The site was also moved to a new hosting company, given a new domain name and rewritten as a template-driven PHP site. Layout was converted from tables to CSS positioning.

A Site Redesign

The goal of this project was to totally redesign an existing site using CSS for both design and layout. Care was taken with organization of materials, graphic components and making sure the JavaScript was accessible and unobtrusive.

A Multimedia Project

This project is a rich media site done in Flash. In addition to having content describing the life of Bach, the Baroque Suite and Bach's French Suites, the site also has several portraits of Bach and downloadable and streaming audio files. A music quiz and a "juke box" are added as fun extras.

Goals

Launch Site

The goal of this project was to do a site redesign of an existing site, using CSS positioning and valid XHTML. The original logo and all photos, content and sponsor ads were to be maintained. Everything else (including reorganizing and renaming content) was up for grabs.

Details

The site is a stretchy layout and has been tested in resolutions from 800x600 to 1280x960. Particular emphasis was given to designing new graphics for the site and also to using Unobtrusive JavaScript. More information can be obtained in the Concept Note.

Goals

Launch Site

The goal of this project was to create a rich multimedia site. The site was created in Flash MX 2004. Audio files were prepared using Sony Sound Forge 8. The site has main sections of Biography, Portraits, The Baroque Suite, Bach's French Suites, Music Quiz and Juke Box. Sound files in various formats (mp3, wav, au, aif) were used throughout the site, formats being chosen based on the appropriateness to the useage.

The site also has some scattered background sounds to add interest, such as on the Music Quiz page (one sound for getting a question right, another for missing it) and on the over state of the links in the downloads area. A previous version of this site included a video. However, the video didn't pertain to Bach's French Suites and I was unable to find one that did so the video was removed.
